March & April 2016
The bass will begin to show back up on the flats from the spawn ready to eat. If the grass isnít thick, Gold-orange bellied Rouges fished around the shallow Cypress trees will produce great action. If the grass is to thick to fish the rouge, fluke and senko type baits in Watermelon red or Red Shad rigged weightless works great around the grass. If the wind picks up, green pumpkin or black neon Lizards Texas rigged with a ľ oz. Tungsten weight will catch some nice ones around the shallow Cypress Trees. If the water gets a little stained and has current going over the flats, a white & chartruse 3/8 oz. spinnerbait will be good baits to fish around shallow cover that has current going around it.
Tight Lines, Russ
