September & October 2013
Lake Bistineau~ With the lake in a drawdown this has been one of the best summers we have had on Bistineau. Looks like September & October will be just as good.
Excellent top water action can be awesome in the early morning. Popírs and Tiny torpedoes are the best. Shad pattern Bandits Footloose and 100 series crank baits will get them in the mouths of the sloughs and creeks. If the top water is slow try a watermelon 4 or 6 inch finesse worm rigged on a Shaky Head on light line.
Texas rigged Tubes in black red or black blue color on a matching 3/16 oz. worm weight will catch some nice ones around the Cypress Trees along the deeper sloughs and main channel. The pearl black back or chartreuse blue back pattern 100 series Bandit crankbaits fished around the mouths of the sloughs and Cypress tree points will catch the quality bass.
